Katie joined Pelican in 2024 and is responsible for executing marketing and communications initiatives for the firm and supporting the investment team in their efforts to secure capital commitments. Additionally, she collaborates with Pelican's portfolio companies on brand strategy, marketing campaign execution, and vendor management to maximize visibility and ROI as needed.
Prior to joining Pelican, Katie was the Director of Marketing & Communications for an area religious organization. She also served as a Marketing Manager for a publicly traded consumer packaged goods corporation, where she directed national campaigns resulting in 100% of units sold for key new products, managed tradeshows, oversaw all point of purchase materials and in-store merchandising, placed strategic product on the cover of well-known consumer magazines, and was frequently asked to speak as an emerging trends expert at the Walmart Supplier Summit for her category. Her early career includes a background in corporate communications and public relations, where she managed accounts in automotive, emerging biotechnologies, nonprofit, and food & beverage industries.
Katie graduated from Loyola University with a BA in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations, and is working towards her MBA at Texas State University. She also runs a seasonal business designing and installing holiday decorations in high net worth residential and commercial spaces. Katie loves live music, snuggling on the couch with her family, and laughing over a good meal with friends.
